Job Description
- To facilitate the prompt placement of reinsurance contracts in accordance with the client’s requirements and needs, in a timely manner in accordance with regulatory requirements acting in the best interest of the client at all times.
- To provide a quality service to clients covering all aspects of their insurance arrangements; to advise, arrange and secure the appropriate cover at a competitive premium.
- Providing support to the Facultative Broking Team in the preparation of placement slips & endorsements and placing process, and to work on allocated tasks and projects as directed in order to facilitate the business operations.
- Understand the workings of the company and each of its functions, as well as the market that the business operates in.
Main Responsibilities
To manage the reinsurance intermediation as part of the team including production, risk placing, client servicing, claims handling and associated functions.
- To produce clear and accurate documents and wordings for clients which provide the best possible cover in the market and adhere to all regulatory requirements.
- Use appropriate class of business knowledge to produce contract documents and documents suited to the client’s needs.
- Check and recommend amendments to policies/contract documents produced by others prior to agreement by Underwriters.
- Check final contract documents against slip or proposal details to ensure appropriateness of the proposed standard policy.
- Create original and complex contract documents and maintain database of contract documents and policy information.
- Provide advice on contract documents within specified classes of business.
- Resolve Underwriter’s queries in a timely manner.
- To ensure sound business practices and an adequate and pro-active risk control framework within the team and work within authority.
- To exercise judgement when reviewing proposals, either new or renewals.
- Maintain up-to-date and orderly files, and ensure documents are saved and files are passed on to the others in accordance with Company Rules and Procedures.
- Work closely with Finance and Technical Processing department in resolving accounting and technical queries.
- Provide and gather information to and from Clients, Underwriters, Brokers, and Technical Processing Colleagues as required.
- Manage and undertake assigned project work to time scales as directed.
- Evaluate workflow system and policy status and report on regular basis.
- Facilitate compliance checks as relevant.
- Calling on prospects and clients for new business opportunities.
- Maintain proper meeting and call records.
